St. Thomas’ hugely values the importance of swimming and aims for every one of its children to leave primary school with the essential skills to keep themselves safe in water.

Before interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic, the school continued to use the excellent provision provided at Biddulph Valley Leisure Centre and will do so again this year.

St. Thomas’ recognises the significantly detrimental impact that the Covid-19 pandemic has had on swimming attainment for the past year and a half, but we are to extremely determined to drive the amount of children passing KS2 expectations during 2021/22 with swimming provision continuing through the entirety of the academic year for our Year 4 and Year 6 children.
